Propagate was my senior capstone project at the University of Cincinnati College of DAAP. I developed the concept along with a good friend and industrial designer, Branden Francis. Together we developed the concept for Propagate. I created the brand and created a set of supporting infographics that were meant to reside in the space and provide validation of concept for perspective clients. Branden designed the greenhouse and system itself. Final renderings and our combined displays for the final show are included here.
Propagate is an urban market farm intended to provide fresh produce, directly to market in an effort to deepen the relationship consumers have with their food and promote conscious living through design. We provide education regarding urban agriculture through an immersive aquaponics greenhouse. We believe this practice is a strong alternative growing method due to its low impact, high productivity and adaptability to the urban environment.
In the end, we had developed plans for the entire concept from the front end sales point, down to the plumbing necessary to facilitate the most production possible out of the back end aquaponics system.
